Sangiovese is a grape with thin skin that leaves a lingering taste of the wine for a longer time. It takes time to mature up. They are also known as  known as Chianti grapes. Sangiovese is the most planted varietal of red grapes in Italy., and boasts of  over a dozen clones. The Chianti Classico and Italian Chianti wines are major examples of  wines that are dominantly from Sangiovese. characteristically Sangiovese grapes results into full-bodied and medium wines which includes a tannin structure that ranges from medium to soft and firm.

The most dominant  flavors characteristic of Sangioves wines embraces: plum,cherry,strawberry,and cinnamon Sangiovese wines are often known for their herbaceous property As far as the acidity levels are considered, Sangiovese leans from low to high acidity level. The finished taste value of this wines ranges from elegant towards being more bitter.

Region
Central Italy, specifically the region of Tuscany, is the agricultural heartland of the Sangiovese grape.
